In Nairobi, Capital FM's Koroga Festival wrote a decade of African music
Created in 2014 by radio station Capital FM, the Koroga Festival made Nairobi a major stage for African picnic concerts. Its most famous show: Aṣa's, in 2019, at an all-female 25th edition.
'Koroga': to mix, in Swahili
The name says it all: 'koroga' means 'to mix'. Launched on April 13, 2014 at Nairobi's Arboretum Gardens, Capital FM's festival celebrated African music outdoors — picnics, food, art and fashion — across 30 editions until 2022.
Aṣa, headliner of the Ladies Edition
On March 30 and 31, 2019, the 25th edition — a 'Ladies Edition' with an all-female line-up — welcomed Aṣa as headliner at Mamba Village's Leisure Gardens. Capital FM filmed her full concert: it can be watched on the festival's page and in our On Stage feed.
