More than 7,900 artists since 1989

The official figures are dizzying: since 1989, more than 7,940 artists from 56 countries have performed in Würzburg, before some 2,745,000 visitors. Four days of concerts, bazaar and encounters, over a long weekend in late May.

Official concerts to relive

The festival's official channel keeps the memory of its stages: Fatoumata Diawara, Lokua Kanza and a legendary Manu Dibango in 2018, the Ndlovu Youth Choir in 2019. These recordings can be watched on the festival's page and in our On Stage feed. From 2026, the evening concerts move from the Mainwiesen meadows to the Congress Centrum.

Africa Festival Würzburg, Würzburg (Germany). 37th edition: May 22–25, 2026; next edition expected in late May 2027.
