It's ON IN CAP-BRETON: Celtic Colours celebrates its 30th anniversary — 52 concerts, 36 villages, an entire island in music!
Since October 9, Cape Breton Island has been vibrating with the sound of violins, bagpipes and Gaelic voices: the Celtic Colours International Festival celebrates its 30th edition until Saturday, October 17 — and Festival TV takes you there!
The concept is unique in the world: rather than a single big stage, the festival bursts into 52 concerts in 36 communities on the island — a historic church in Louisbourg, a parish hall in Mabou, an arena in Sydney. Every evening, musicians from Scotland, Ireland and Brittany share the stage with the guardians of the Cape Breton tradition, between Gaelic culture, Mi'kmaq heritage and Acadian pride — Chéticamp is the celebration!
New to this anniversary edition: a concert is broadcast live every night, to make the island travel to you. And the final bouquet promises to be electric: the closing concert "30 and Thrivag", on October 17 at the Sydney Centre 200, will bring together among others The Irish Descendants, Matt Andersen, The Men of the Deeps and the supergroup Còig.
The following is already written: the 31st edition will take place from October 8 to 16, 2027. A festival that proves that traditions, when a whole territory carries them, never age — they shine. Happy 30 years, Celtic Colours!
