It's a very official thing: Sundance moves to Boulder — independent cinema changes mountains!
It's a historic turning point for 7th art: after more than four decades in Park City, Utah, the Sundance Film Festival will write its next page in Boulder, Colorado, from January 21 to 31, 2027. And the packages of this very first coloradian edition are on sale since October 15th!
The event, founded under the impetus of Robert Redford, is the launching pad of the independent world cinema: this is where young unknown filmmakers become, during a snowy projection, the names that all Hollywood is tearing apart. Boulder, a university town at the foot of the Rockies, thus inherits a treasure — eleven days of world premieres, meetings and deals signed between two hot chocolates.
As for practice, the Sundance Institute has considered all portfolios: the 2027 packages range from $275 (students and 18–25) to the donor formulas, with a single ticket offer scheduled for January 8th. Want to live the indoor festival? Volunteer applications are open until October 30th, 2026.
