Created in 2019 by cultural journalist Aboubacar Mamadou Camara and organized by ELITE COM, the Guinean Music Victories are the most prestigious ceremony of distinction of Guinean music stars. Their recent prize-winning series speaks for itself: the Grand Prix went to Azaya in 2023, then to legend Sékouba Bambino in 2024, before Djelykaba Bintou became the first woman to win it in 2025 — five trophies won the same year, a record in the history of the ceremony.

The 7th edition was held on December 11, 2025 at the Radisson Blu in Conakry. For the 8th, announced in December 2026, the exact day and place remain to be confirmed — the organizers maintain the suspense, a brilliant poster in support: the lady in a golden dress, microphone in hand, is already ready to stage.

The ceremony grew rapidly: the categories opened up to West Africa in 2022, Central Africa in 2023, and North Africa in 2024 — the VDMGs no longer crown Guinea only, they make the continent dialogue. The rankings are decided by a steering committee on 11 criteria combined with the public vote, and each edition also hosts the Music Fair, an event for reflection around, among others, artificial intelligence and cultural development.

Festival TV will follow this 8th edition closely: the record of the Guinean Music Victories is to be discovered in our global catalogue — waiting for the official day and place, which we will announce as soon as they are published.
