February 2027, the month the planet becomes a carnival: Rio, Venice, Barranquilla, Quebec and New Orleans at the same time!

Let's start with the king of the carnivals: Rio de Janeiro. The parades of the Special Group of Samba Schools are expected on 7, 8 and 9 February 2027 at Sambódromo Marquês de Sapucaí, with the Champions' parade on 13 February — dates announced in the Brazilian press, to reconfirm on the official channel of LIESA. Twelve schools, thousands of dancers, monumental tanks: the most grand show of the planet celebrates.

In Colombia, the Barranquilla Carnival, the second largest carnival in the world and UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage, confirmed its official dates: from 6 to 9 February 2027. In Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), the cradle of Caribbean carnivals in the diaspora will culminate on Monday and Tuesday, 8 and 9 February, at the sound of the soca and steelpans (official announcement of the National Carnival Commission expected). In Italy, the Venice Carnival will deploy its masks from the 18th century from 23 January to 9 February 2027, dates published in the official program.

And the North in all this? He answers present, and in great numbers! The Mardi Gras of New Orleans will close his season on Tuesday, February 9, 2027 — the same day as Mardi Gras of Rio. Meanwhile, under the snow, the Quebec Carnival will be in full swing from February 5 to 14, between Palais de icing and canoe racing. Not to mention the Calabar Carnival of Nigeria, "the largest street festival in Africa", which is burning in December.

One month, five continents, one language: the one of the festival. To tell the story of this magical simultaneousity, Festival TV created its network of volunteer explorers around the world: in February 2027, wherever you are, one of ours will be live from the heart of the parade.
