St-Tite 2026: Western phenomenon hit again — a two-step review for 58th edition
Ten days, a village of some 4,000 inhabitants transformed into the capital of the country: the 58th edition of the Western Festival of St. Tite took place from September 11 to 20, 2026, and it leaves a record in two stages — an unspoiled fervor, but an end of the darkest edition.
The number of people talking about the festival is that the 10 rodeos have attracted about 75,000 spectators, almost at closed outlets, and more than 15,000 people have attended the four evenings of activities at the renewed site. Since 1967, St-Tite has remained the largest western attraction in Eastern Canada — boots, hats and country music as far as you can see, with traders confirming that the western wave has never been so strong.
In the shadows, serious incidents forced the organization to react: reports of poisoning — including bites without the knowledge of festivalgoers — were investigated by the Sûreté du Québec, and a hit-and-run crime injured six young pedestrians during the last weekend. The general management, Anne-Marie Lemire, addressed his thoughts to the affected people, and the City wished to review the safety measures with all partners before the next edition.
Festival TV says it as a pro media: celebrating festivals is also a requirement for safe living. The 2027 dates — traditionally early September — will be announced by the festival.
