“STORIES WITHOUT BORDERS”: GOA BECOMES THE WORLD CAPITAL OF CINEMA!

Stories without borders: one could not dream of a finer motto for a festival — nor a finer programme for Festival TV. From November 20 to 28, 2026, Panaji, the capital of Goa, in India, hosts the 57th edition of the International Film Festival of India, the IFFI: nine days during which South Asia's oldest film festival turns the Arabian Sea coast into a world rendezvous of the seventh art.

“STORIES WITHOUT BORDERS”: GOA BECOMES THE WORLD CAPITAL OF CINEMA!

Born in 1952, the IFFI has crossed the eras without abandoning one conviction: cinema is a language that knows no borders. The 2026 edition proclaims it on its official poster — “Stories Without Borders”, carried by the peacock, the festival's emblem. Organized by the National Film Development Corporation and India's Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, with the Entertainment Society of Goa, the festival announces more than 100 countries represented and more than 45,000 film lovers and professionals expected (organizer's figures): quite simply, one of the pillars of the world cinema calendar.

On the programme, according to the official regulations: an international competition, the Indian Panorama, masterclasses, and what also makes the IFFI's strength — its market. The WAVES Film Bazaar brings together producers, sellers and programmers from all over the world, while the Creative Minds of Tomorrow programme prepares the next generation of filmmakers. Between Panaji's cinemas, the opening ceremony on November 20 and the awards ceremony on the 28th, Goa lives to the rhythm of premieres and conversations that never end.

Media accreditation for this 57th edition was still open in mid-October (Press Information Bureau release of October 15, 2026). Indian cinema and world cinema meet in Goa.
