Vivid Sydney 2027: 23 nights of light announced, May 28 to June 19 — Australia lights up the Southern Winter!
It's an official event! Vivid Sydney, the largest light festival in the southern hemisphere, unveiled its 2027 dates: from May 28 to June 19, Sydney Bay will become a giant canvas of projections, music and ideas. Twenty-three nights to dream of open eyes.
Imagine the scene: the white veils of the Sydney Opera become a living screen, the harbour's bridges and facades are bursting with colours, and giant light installations are marking a magical journey through the streets of the city. Vivid Sydney — a festival that blends light, music, ideas and gastronomy, and attracts millions of visitors to Australia's night.
Why is this festival so much about us at Festival TV? Because it proves that a party can reinvent an entire city. Vivid was not born of a centuries-old tradition: it is a contemporary creation that has become, in a few years, a planetary rendezvous. Evidence that today's festivals — including the micro-festivals we defend — can become the traditions of tomorrow, as long as a community takes hold of them.
Destination NSW, the government agency organizing, confirmed the edition 2027: from May 28 to June 19, 2027, that is 23 nights of programming. The calls to creators from all over the world are open to imagine the installations of tomorrow — artists of light, to your projects!
And while Sydney will light up, Oceania will also vibrate at the pace of the Pasifika Festival in Auckland (13-14 March 2027), the largest Pacific cultural festival, and the Heiva i Tahiti, whose maintenance in 2027 is confirmed. No continent escapes the festival — and none escapes our explorers. Festival TV takes you there!
