Koundara Weekly Market

Koundara is the first major Guinean city when you arrive from Senegal or Guinea-Bissau, and its weekly market makes it a crossroads of the three countries. Livestock, fabrics, agricultural products and traders from both borders meet there on market day. It is heard the pulaar and languages of the whole region, from Bassari to Coniagui and Badiaranké. The best day to feel the shopping pulse of north-western Guinea.
