Kouroussa is a land of the donnoumba, the big bass drum whose name also refers to the "dance of strong men", practiced in Upper Guinea during village festivals and ceremonies. The families of drummers of the city are bringing this art of mandingue percussion, between kenkeni, sangban and doundounba, to which the soloist djembe answers. It is here, every year, that the Festival Doundoumba celebrates these rhythms. An encounter with these musicians is worth all the concerts: the rhythm is learned by listening to it tell.
