Nathan Phillips Square

City square and lights

Toronto — Toronto's public square, at the foot of Viljo Revell's City Hall (1965): fountains and a reflecting pool that becomes a skating rink in winter, the big illuminated TORONTO sign, concerts, gatherings and markets all year. Since 1967, this is where Cavalcade of Lights lights the city's official Christmas tree and opens the holiday season — in 2026, on Saturday, November 28, with the lights shining on until January 7, 2027.
