High Park

Park and nature

Toronto — Toronto's green lung: 161 hectares of hills, ponds and oak savannah west of downtown. In spring, its Japanese cherry trees — a gift from 1959 — draw the whole city into bloom; in summer, Shakespeare plays under the stars (Dream in High Park), the free zoo welcomes families and Grenadier Pond fills with picnics. A people's park, minutes by streetcar from downtown.
