The festival
On the banks of the Niger River, in the former Bambara kingdom, Ségou has a dialogue of arts and ideas. Created in 2005 by Mamou Daffé and worn by the Festival Foundation on Niger, the festival has become one of the largest cultural events in West Africa: giant concerts on the banks (stages Da Monzon and Biton), contemporary art salon Ségou'Art, theatre, dance, tales and the Fair of Ségou, at the Quai des Arts.
Passed in the biennium in 2025, he claimed 100,000 festivalgoers in five days and 1,500 direct jobs. He is also a historical partner of Festival TV: from 2006 to 2014, the festival invited Moïse 1er to cover the event and put it "in all settings", with all the support — a story of fidelity between the river and this house, born in Guinea in 2006.
