In Cali, the Petronio Álvarez makes Afro-Colombian Pacific music resound
The Festival de Música del Pacífico Petronio Álvarez, the great gathering of Afro-Colombian cultures created in 1997 in Cali, joins the Festival TV catalogue. Its 2026 edition was suspended after the August 10, 2026 earthquake; the 30th edition is postponed to 2027.

The festival bears the name of Petronio Álvarez (1914–1966), composer of 'Mi Buenaventura', anthem of the port of Buenaventura. Since August 1997, Cali has celebrated the music of the Afro-Colombian Pacific: marimba, chirimía and Cauca violins competitions, gastronomy and crafts, all free of charge.
