It's OFFICIAL: Nuits d'Afrique unveils its 2027 dates — the 41st edition will take place from July 6 to 18 in Montreal!
After a 40th historic edition in 2026, the International Festival Nuits d'Afrique will be back to brighten up Montreal's summer from July 6-18, 2027. Thirteen days of music from Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles.
There are festivals that are running a city, and there are those that define it. Since 1987, when everything started at the legendary Club Balattou, Nuits d'Afrique is beating Montreal at the pace of world music. Founded by Lamine Touré, the festival has become the largest of its kind in North America — and its 41st edition is already looking like a new chapter in a growing history.
In July 2026, the festival celebrated its 40th anniversary, and Festival TV was on the ground: exclusive interviews with the platform's microphone, a vibrant tribute to the founder Lamine Touré — the "Baobab des Nuits d'Afrique" — and a Guinea that came to celebrate the legacy of this man who opened Montreal to the rhythms of the continent. These moments, our community lived them live, and they remain among the most watched content on our page.
For 2027, the festival's success will be marked by live concerts — Club Balattou, MTELUS and other partner scenes — and a large free outdoor program in the Quartier des spectacles, between shows, workshops and artisanal markets. Generations of artists have marched there, from Youssou N'Dour to Salif Keita, from Alpha Blondy to Tiken Jah Fakoly, and each summer reveals new talents that the whole world will then tear away.
Note the dates now: from July 6th to 18th 2027. Festival TV is already preparing its cover: our explorers will be on the ground, microphone in hand, to make you live the atmosphere at the heart of the festival, in real time. The complete programming will be unveiled by the organization in the spring — and as always, you will discover it here first.
Because a festival is not just concerts: it is a community that celebrates life. And in Montreal, in July, this community has a name: Nuits d'Afrique!
