Metal XXL: Wacken and Hellfest 2027 already complete — but the scene keeps a door open to bands!
Metalheads are already on the list for the summer of 2027! The German Wacken Open Air (28–31 July 2027) has sold its 85,000 tickets, and the Hellfest of Clisson (17–20 June 2027) sold every 4 days. Two metal cathedrals, two "sold out"... and a nice front door for bands who dream of playing there.
In Wacken, the 36th edition already aligns more than 50 names — Electric Callboy, Five Finger Death Punch, Helloween, Heaven Shall Burn, Halestorm, DragonForce, Napalm Death, Jinjer — and will transform as every year a village of 2,000 souls into a world metal capital. In Clisson, the Hellfest celebrates its 20th anniversary with an "absolute edition" of 300 bands on 10 scenes; the passes left in July for official resale, waiting for the pass 1 day in early 2027.
And the open door is here: the Wacken Metal Battle, the world competition for emerging bands, has been accepting applications since October 1st — the winners are playing on the stage of the festival, in front of the most faithful audience on the metal planet.
