Tremé is celebrating his fall party: meet on October 24 in New Orleans
The Tremé Fall Festival returns on Saturday, October 24, 2026 around Saint-Augustin's Church, in the heart of the oldest black quarter of the United States. Second line, live music and Creole cuisine: the birthplace of jazz celebrates its heritage, free of charge.
The birthplace of jazz in celebration
Born in the streets of Tremé, jazz returns to the city every fall: a band brass leads the second line from 11 am, before concerts, artisans and Creole flavors, until 6 pm around the church of Saint-Augustin, the oldest black Catholic parish in the United States.
A festival that preserves
Organized by the Historic Faubourg Tremé Association, the event — free of charge, donations welcome — funds the preservation of the heritage of the neighborhood. The edition 2026, whose visual is signed Christina F. Pappion, honors Wanda Rouzan and Luther Gray; Malik Mingo is announced as master of ceremonies. The evening of patrons is held on Friday, October 16.
