Monts Nimba
Nature
In Lola, on the outskirts of Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire, the Nimba Mountains are the highest point in Guinea and a biosphere reserve classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The massif is home to an exceptional biodiversity, studied by scientists from all over the world. But it is a fragile and strictly protected place: visits require adequate supervision and compliance with the rules in force. A summit to be approached with local guides, as a well-informed traveller.

Some landmarks: the massif peaks at Mount Richard-Molard (1,752 m), top of Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire; the integral reserve, classified by UNESCO in 1981, covers 17,540 hectares on both sides of the border and protects species that are not found anywhere else, such as the viviparous toad and the micropotamogal.
