Allan Gardens

Greenhouses and gardens

Toronto — A Victorian oasis downtown: created in 1858, this park holds six historic greenhouses — including the 1910 Palm House — where palms, orchids and tropical plants live warm all year. Admission is free, the collections change with the seasons, and the great floral shows (autumn chrysanthemums, December poinsettias) are a Toronto tradition.
