ARTISTS OF AFRICA AND DIASPORA, TO YOU! AFRIMA opens the nominations for their 10th edition — final in Lagos in May 2027!
Every great story begins with a simple gesture: send its song. Since October 11, the AFRIMA portal — the All Africa Music Awards — is open, and thousands of artists, from the continent and the diaspora, are already preparing the dossier that may change their lives.
Applications for the 10th edition of AFRIMA are open until January 10, 2027, via the official portal afrima.org — no email will be accepted. Works produced or published between August 10, 2025 and January 10, 2027, in 40 categories covering the genres and five regions of the continent. Artists, songwriters, producers, music directors, DJs, dancers, labels and even artists not yet recorded can try their luck; the form is available in English, French, Swahili, Arabic and Portuguese.
The final meeting is already on the calendar: the awards program will be held from May 18-23, 2027 in Lagos, Nigeria. The previous edition had received no less than 10,717 applications — proof that AFRIMA, created in 2013 in partnership with the African Union and broadcast in more than 84 countries, became the great barometer of African music.
Applications are open to Guinean creators, African-born Quebecers and diaspora artists.
