FNC 2026: The Golden Love for "I Plant My Hand in the Garden", "Clubfoot" crowned at the national level

The 55th edition of the Festival du nouvelle cinéma de Montréal (8-18 October 2026) gave its prize: the Golden Love goes to "I Plant My Hand in the Garden" by Boris Hadžija and Hoda Taheri, Nathan Donovan's National Grand Prix at "Clubfoot".

The 2026 moats

The international jury crowned "I Plant My Hand in the Garden" (Louve d'or presented by Québecor); on the national side, Nathan Donovan's "Clubfoot" is back with the Grand Prix. The first Queer Louve in the history of the festival distinguishes Tom Fontenille's "Cœur Secret".

The public also voted

Three public awards complete the picture: " Donde comienza el río" by Juan Andrés Arango in International Panorama, "Totality" by David Heilbroner and Kate Davis in Time Ø, and "Noctambules" by Lena von Döhren at Les P'tits Loups.

A festival that counts

Founded in 1971, the FNC became an officially accredited FIAPF festival in 2026. Nearly 200 works, eleven days of premieres: Montreal closed its film books on October 18 — go to fall 2027 for the 56th edition.
