MORY TOURED, VISAGE OF AFRICAN FESTIVALS
There are voices that Africa knows from the festivals by heart. Mory Touré is one of them: journalist in Bamako, former Malian voice of "Culeurs Tropicales" on RFI, promoter-animator of Radio Afrika, official ambassador of Visa For Music for Mali — and, since 25 October 2026, first official Festival Explorer of Festival TV, of which he is also the sponsor. Portrait of a man who, for more than thirty years, tells the parties and festivals where they live — from Africa to Europe, from the REMA to the Old Charrues.
If the Festival Explorer concept were to have only one face, it would be his. Since Bamako, Mory Touré travels the scenes of the continent and the world, microphone in hand and camera on the shoulder, to tell the parties and festivals where they live: at the heart of the festival, among artists and audiences. It is this field look — thirty years of roads, scenes and encounters — that Festival TV has chosen to open the way for its explorers.
The journey: a life with a micro of African music
African music, he tells it every day. For years, he was one of the voices of "Tropical Colors" on RFI The programme's correspondent in Mali, he made the Malian and West African scenes heard at a world audience. The program has since left RFI's airwaves, but this route forged the journalist — and it was built in a circle of fidelities: Claudy Siar, the man of "Tropical Colors", is one of his best friends and mentor; the late Amobé, the owner of an info-distributive chain, was also among his relatives and guides. Promoter and host of Radio AfrikaMory Touré, based in Bamako, also works closely with artists and organizers: journalism is a field job at home, not a desk.
From the big scenes to the festivals that make the heart of the regions beat, its terrain is vastly beyond Mali: for more than thirty years, it has been running from festival to festival, as close as possible to the cultures that tell each other about it. Few voices know as well as its living geography of the festivals of Africa — and, we will see, of Europe.
Not only Africa: Europe of festivals
Mory Touré is not just Africa — far from it. Season after season, it also regularly covers the major European meetings. In Brittany, he is a regular of the Vieilles Charrues, the giant of Carhaix, of which he is very close to the direction. We meet him at the Paléo Festival Nyon, on the scenes of Belgique and wherever the continent celebrates its music: it shoots in Europe as it does in Africa, with the same curiosity and the same demand.
On these roads, his real signature is proximity to the artists. The great African voices — Salif Keïta, Oumou Sangaré — are close to him; and stars all over the world find him behind the scenes as one of their own. This confidence is not bought: it is built, festival after festival, for more than thirty years.

The land, right now : Ouagadougou
He barely got out of the Rencontres Musicales Africaines (REMA), in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso. In addition to the 9th edition, he conducted interviews at the forum "Reinventing Creation, Visibility and Value" — artificial intelligence in musical creation and author law — with Luc Mayitukou, Youssef Ouedraogo and Chantal Kaboré Forgo, general secretary of the BBDA. On 22 October, at the Cité de la Musique, he filmed the evening "Focus Burkina": five Burkina Faso artists in showcase, and three interviews — the group Fereke Wassa, Elue 111 and Eunice Goula. His report opens the antenna of Festival TV.
And before Ouagadougou: Gabon
The road of 2026 had already passed through Gabon: FEMOGA — the Fashion Festival in Gabon, 4th edition, in July 2026, he covered the event from inside, camera to fist. A few weeks earlier, his album of the Festival Au Coeur de l'Art 2026 "Mawndoe and his team for this beautiful edition" — the signature of a man who never merely passes on: he testifies, he transmits.
For Festival TV, the case is heard: Mory Touré is one of the world's greatest explorers of festivals and festivals, from Africa to Europe. The road continues — next stop: Rabat. And as always, the whole world will be able to follow it here, on Festival TV .
