Sydney Festival 2027: Summer in the Southern Feast, January 7-25
The Sydney Festival unveiled the program of its 51st edition, from Thursday 7 to Monday 25 January 2027, throughout the Greater Sydney. Hannah Gadsby, the world premiere of THE LINE and more than 10,000 tickets to 49 Australian dollars or less are the headlines.
A festival that crosses the city
Theatre, dance, music, humour and visual arts: for 19 days, the festival has invested the centre of Sydney, Bondi and the west of the metropolis. Dance Reflections series made its debut in the southern hemisphere, and the native company ILBIJERRI created THE LINE, a fresco by Nathan Maynard and Rachael Maza.
Bathing cars and a free hub
In Barangaroo Reserve, the "waynapuni pools" transform cars into saunas and pools, while The Yard, a free outdoor hub, runs the bay front from January 8 to 24. In Penrith, west of Sydney, ONEFOUR's drill collective meets the Penrith Chamber Orchestra; singer Ali Sethi and comedian Hannah Gadsby complete the headlines.
