Canal Rideau, secteur Ottawa

Patrimoine mondial UNESCO

Ottawa — Opened in 1832, the Rideau Canal connects Ottawa to Kingston for 202 kilometres and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007. In the summer, the city's locks saw the boats pass between Parliament Hill and Dow Lake. In winter, the Ottawa section became the world's largest natural ice rink — the beating heart of Snow Ball.
