The archipelago aligns three main islands — Tamara (Fotoba), Kassa and Roume — and a handful of islets, less than an hour by boat from Conakry. It is there for swimming, diving and sport fishing; the archipelago also keeps the memory of Guinea's first bauxite factory, the Tamara lighthouse and the former Fotoba penitentiary.
