Festival: have you planned for everything on top of the ticket?
The ticket price is rarely the real price of a festival. Once the dates are chosen and the programme in hand, there remains the transport, the accommodation, the meals, the local travel and that small budget everyone always forgets: the one for souvenirs, encounters and last-minute desires. Planning is not spoiling the party: it is what lets you enjoy it without counting at every step.
Transport: often the first item
For a distant festival, transport can cost more than the entry ticket. Book early, compare departures the day before and the day after, and look at local solutions: festival shuttles, carpooling between festival-goers, the host city's transport. Arriving a day early and leaving a day later also changes the price — and the fatigue.
Accommodation: the item that tips everything
Hotel, rental, campsite: during a festival, prices rise and places go fast. That is often where the budget explodes — or frees itself. Festival TV created DodoFest for exactly that, hosting with a fellow festival-goer: locals and festival-goers who offer a bed, a sofa or a room, free of charge, between party people. The exchange rests on trust: verified profiles, requests from your account, and a clear agreement before arrival.
Meals: the party also goes through the plate
Eating on site is convenient, but rarely the cheapest. A market in the morning, a picnic between two concerts, a neighbourhood restaurant in the evening: the food budget is easy to steer, and it is often how you best discover the town hosting the festival.
Local transport and small costs
Bus, metro, night taxi, bike rental, luggage locker, phone battery, raincoat bought in a hurry: added up, these small amounts make a real budget line. Planning them avoids the bad surprises of the last evening.
The pleasure budget: don't forget it
A signed record, an artisan met at the market, a second concert added to the programme: those expenses are the heart of the festival. Better to plan them as a line of their own than to discover them on your statement when you get home.
