Two Sevens Clash: Legends of the reggae roots, led by Kenyatta Hill — Group — reggae roots
Biographie
Founded in 1976 in Kingston as The African Disciples, Culture is one of the founding bands of roots reggae: Two Sevens Clash (1977) remains a landmark album, prophetic and luminous. When singer Joseph Hill died in 2006 in Berlin, his son Kenyatta Hill took up the microphone — with a voice reminiscent of his father's. Alongside Albert Walker and Telford Nelson, he keeps the band's repertoire alive on stages worldwide, as at Amsterdam's Reggae Lake Festival on August 16, 2025.
